God knows my heart...and it will be OK

So here is a mini update - A few weeks ago I went to the doctor to talk about the symptoms that I have been experiencing and he referred me to a cardiologist. The cardiologist ran some tests (stress test, echo test, etc.) last week to see how my ole ticker was pumping. Yesterday was my follow up appointment to find out my results. What the cardiologist found was that there was a part of my heart that wasn't working correctly for someone of my age. Of course he said that it wasn't anything to be worried about because he doesn't believe it is something life threatening but he still wants to look into it further to rule out anything bad. The next step is going to be a CT scan so he can just go in there and see everything. I am hoping that Tricare will give the authorization to do this ASAP. We only have about 7 more days here. I can't imagine moving half way across the country with this kind of worry on my mind.

When I came home, I told Chris and of course he had his "Don't worry about it" attitude. Ugh...that used to annoy me so  much because it made me think that he didn't care. I am the type of person to think of every possible scenario and try to draw out a plan. Chris is just so "go with the flow". However, he did explain to me that he just always leaves his worries in God's hands and that is why he never worries to much about anything. He makes a good point. I don't think that I have as much faith in my God as I thought I did. My worries take over my life sometimes. I admire Chris and how much faith he has. That is something that I need to work on.

So I am going to change my attitude about this whole thing. Yes, there may be something wrong with my heart. If there is then I am sure that the doctors will find the best action plan to fix it. Instead of thinking of the worst possible scenarios (like "oh my gosh, I am going to DIE") I am going to leave things in God's hands. I will live my life one day at a time and enjoy it rather than spend my days worrying about tomorrow...worrying about things that may never be.

Chris told me yesterday "It will be OK. No matter WHAT happens, it will be OK". And he is so right. Everything will be OK.

Matthew 6:25-27  “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

Matthew 6:34  “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Matthew 11:28-30  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Luke 12:25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his  span of life?

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you;my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Sometimes I Feel Like My Life is a Movie...

...and I am the main star! :)

155. That is how many movies we have in our collection right now. I was so bored the other day that I decided to alphabetize our DVD collection. (Nerdy, yes I know). There are movies in there that I haven't even watched. I like to think of myself as quite the movie fanatic and have quite a few movies under my belt already. I can quote a movie in everyday conversation. I know that it annoys Chris sometimes.. <---always a plus! So I have made it my mission to 1.) Complete my collections (such as the Austin Powers collection, The Mummy Collection, Spider-man Collection, Xmen Collection, etc.) and 2.) To watch every movie we own. Yes, quite a mission, I know. But I am determined. :) And I may or may not include my opinion on the movies in my blog - that is still undecided.

So I guess I will start with my first movie: Scream 4 (2011). Wes Craven

Brief Summary - You guessed it. Someone is trying to kill Sydney. People get the call, people die, and Neve Campbell does her famous "OMG why me" face.

I am sorry but this is the worse of all the Scream movies. They should have stopped at 3. I can't even tell you how corny and predictable this one was! I mean *SPOILER ALERT* when they introduced Sydney's younger cousin (played by the lovely Emma Roberts) it was pretty easy to tell where the movie was going to go from there. Poor cousin Jill was harboring some major jealousy issues towards Sydney for always having the attention and so she plots to kill her. Hit that dang nail right on the head!

Neve Campbell did a pretty good job as usual, but her she played her character a bit lazy. I would be too after 3 sequels.

Emma Roberts played Sydney's younger cousin Jill. I just have to say, B R A V O to Emma Roberts for pulling off the crazy psycho teenage slasher so well! I was used to seeing Emma Roberts as a teen bopper in Unfabulous and Aquamarine. She did the complete opposite of what she was used to playing and she did it with flying colors. That may have been the best part of the entire film.

No one else really stood out other than Courtney Cox's unnatural looking make over. I still miss seeing her as Monica Gellar Bing.

So there you go. There is my opinion of Scream 4. My advice, don't bother wasting the $1 on Redbox to rent it. I would probably watch it again if it was late at night and I couldn't sleep and there weren't any good infomercials on. Haha!

What can you do?

I look at my life and think to myself "Wow. I have a great life. How could I ever complain about all of the many blessings that God has given me?" I have a wonderful husband who loves me for me. He doesn't try to change anything about me (and believe me, there is LOTS I would change about me). I have a wonderful son who loves to learn about any and everything and adores his parents (for now at least ;) ). My daughter is amazing, smart and...I just can't find the words to describe her, she is just amazing. I have a wonderful church family. I mean, these are just a few, A FEW, of the many blessings I have in my life. How can people sit on their butts and take life for granted?

I say this because all around me I hear people complain about their lives and how hard they have it. And once they have complained enough about their life, they move on to someone else's life and complain about theirs. This is something that just baffles me! Who cares if that woman chose not to wear make-up today? I don't wear make up every single day and guess what? My day goes on just fine. My husband still loves me. My husband still thinks I am beautiful. I don't have the fear that just because I don't wear make up my husband will run to the arms of another woman. Get real please.

Who cares if this person chooses to be a SAHM? It is their choice! Are they asking you to pay their bills? Are they asking you to watch or raise their children? Are they asking you for anything? Even your opinion? Then back off. I chose to be a SAHM and guess what? My life is going just fine. My kids are great and guess what ? My husband doesn't think that I am a moocher. You know why? Because we have a great marriage with a great foundation. We both understand that their is no "this is yours and this is mine" (unless it comes down to chips...he knows that the Hot Cheetos are MINE!). He is the provider of our family and he loves it. He takes care of me and the kids just as much as I take care of him and the kids.

Who cares if they choose to spend their money on a new car! Guess what? They earned that paycheck. They aren't coming to you to pick up their bill every month. Are they asking you to co sign for them? Are they asking you to pay for their gas? I am sure that they have budgeted their money well enough to make sure their bases are covered. So back off.

Who cares if she is pregnant with her fourth, fifth, sixth, or even seventh child! They are not asking anything of you. So they want a bigger family. Good for them and may they have a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery.

Oh dear, another thing that just irks me like crazy - how are you going to sit there and tell me that you know my husband better than I do? Are you stalking my husband ? Is that how you know his every move of every single day? Are you a mind reader? Is that how you know what he is thinking? So your husband has his faults (as with everyone else on earth). You chose to ignore them and/or accept them. Why do you care so much about my marriage? Could it be that you are jealous that my husband and I have an amazing relationship? That our marriage is based on our faith and values ? Guess what? My marriage is doing just fine and just because your husband chooses to be unfaithful, doesn't mean that mine is doing the same. So go work on your marriage and leave mine alone.

Who all of a sudden made you queen of the universe? Does every decision that people make have to come through you for approval? Do people now have to ask you your permission and opinion before they do something? If that is the world that you live in, then keep on dreaming. Maybe you should take a look into your life and see where you can make improvements. And then start thanking God for all of the blessings that you have in your life. Stop getting so consumed in other people's lives that you lose sight of what is really important.

It makes me sick to see grown women (and yes, 99% of the time, it is WOMEN) act so childish! These are the women that will be raising the generations of tomorrow. Aye yi yi... Chris tells me to not let all of this nonsense get to me, but I just can't help it. Grown people bullying others. Disgusting. Oh and I guess I should add this - if this offends you in any way, then this is probably geared towards you, oh mighty queen of the universe ;)

I pray for all of you.
